We had the pleasure of attending the book signing event for The Human Bobby, Gabe Rotter's latest book.
As you may remember, he is not only Ten Thirteen Productions' Director of Development but also the author of Duck Duck Wally, one of the "Easter Eggs" included in IWTB.
The gathering was held at "Diesel, A Bookstore" in Brentwood, California, with an intimate but big turnout of friends, family, colleagues and fans of his work, including Vince Gilligan, Lauren Holly, and our friendly colleagues, the IBG gals and Squee TV's entertainment blogger, Erin Fox.
In this latest work, as opposed to his previous comedic book, he explores a darker side but without loosing the "Gabe Rotter Style" that he's just beginning to show to his audience.
As Rotter reads the teaser of The Human Bobby, you can already tell that this is a deep novel, more into the human exploration from a different perspective, that he himself has described as a more mature attempt but still with that sense of wit and irony that he showed in his first book.
Comparing this second penmanship experience, Rotter has recognized that he has grown into the experience of "writing for books", as opposed to writing screenplays, also learning creative tricks from his time on The X-Files crew.
Stick around, as we will soon have him as a guest on our XFN Studio podcast, where we will be discussing many interesting stories and giving away a signed copy of his works.
If you want to purchase his latest book, hurry to Amazon, while supplies last! |

It appears as if Chris Carter has a new project in the works. According to XFN sources, he is teaming up with some old friends for his newest film, Secrets, where he serves as a producer. Joining him are several crew members from his last film, Flying Lessons including an Executive Producer from Breaking Bad, Mark Johnson. Secrets is currently still in development but is expected to begin filming this winter.
In other news, Fencewalker has yet to find a distributor, though rumors late last year were that the film would release at a film festival sometime in 2010.
Conspiracy theories on IMDb state that Fencewalker was actually clandestine filming for XF3, though Dr. Scully would demand more evidence. Hopefully though, she'll get her evidence someday soon.

Your heart is thumping. Your fists are clenched. The smell of methamphetamine fills the air…Wait, what? Oh, you’re watching Breaking Bad. Now I understand.
With Vince Gilligan’s masterpiece, this kind of reaction is to be expected. So you can be sure to experience more of these reactions in this Sunday’s season finale.
And if you’re like many of us, then you’re probably still recovering from last week’s episode while simultaneously trying to process some horrific mental images of a Pontiac Aztek.
It’s okay. We’ve all been there, but if you’re one of the few who hasn’t experienced Breaking Bad, then this summer is the perfect opportunity to catch up on the first three seasons. You can buy the DVDs or download the episodes from iTunes. Trust us, it’s definitely worth it!
Otherwise, if you’re all caught up, you probably already know that the season finale of Breaking Bad airs tonight at 10 pm ET on AMC. Buckle your seat belts. We’re in for one heck of a ride.

"Flying Lessons" an independent film Executive Produced by Chris Carter is set to premiere in the Opening night and Gala of the 25th Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 4th, 2010.
According to Film Geek Confidential:
Indie “Flying Lessons” will open the 25th Santa Barbara Film Festival, which runs Feb. 4-14.
Maggie Grace stars as a woman who’s forced to return home to face old demons and her estranged mother (Christine Lahti). Cast also includes Hal Holbrook, Cary Elwes and Jonathan Tucker.
Pic is the helming debut of thesp Derek Magyar, who noted, “The fact that we shot the entire movie in the Santa Ynez Valley makes it feel like we’ve come full circle.” Fest exec director Roger Durling said the film was brought to his attention by pic’s editor, Richard Harris. Event usually opens with a studio film, but Durling, a seven-year Santa Barbara fest vet, felt it was important to highlight a local indie. “This is the first time a homegrown film will open the festival,” he said.
Thomas Kuehl (”Glee”) scripted and co-produced. Magyar produced with Jenny Hinkey. Chris Carter and Mark Johnson exec produced.
