My computer blows PDF Print E-mail

My computer I have before me, blows.  It's not mine however, I have a loan of this one becuase my laptop decided to go "kaboom" on the USB drives, so its currentely in the shop to get fixed.

They tell me it will take 20 days before its fixed, so I'm on hiatus from updating the site until then, because it took me an hour just to get a simple news blog up this morning.  Don't even ask me to upload a picture on this thing..it freezes.  I can to simple text that's about it.

The weather here has been fantastic, and I've been even able to get a tan (like, the first time ever in my life I can tan outside in may, something went way wrong with the weather...so much that I'm expecting snow in July now).  I'm thinking about seeling my quad and my jeep and getting a Yamaha dirt and street, since its easier on gas, cheaper to maintain and is dual purpose.  I really don't feel like getting chased down by the cops.

After 2 weeks of waiting it finally arrived!  And its every bit of awsomeness I imagined it to be!  Now the only goal is not to get it dirty - which means, don't wear it too often.

That also means, get a black cap so you won't have to worry about it! Oh well.  I always wanted a white cap, just never got around to it until now, and it looks as good as I imagined!

I have to say, since the snow decided to go, it also decided NOT to rain!  Now this is a spring I can get use to.  I passed off my broken ATV chain to Roy to fix yesterday, hopefully he'll have that fixed this evening so I can get my Quad back in one piece.

Speaking of pieces - last fall I went for the craziest of accidents on my quad.   I had some teeth missing from my front cog (where the chain hooks on to the motor to spin the chain)  so I took my quad down to Roy, and got him to weld the teeth back on (he's my welding master!) and then he also noticed that my barring was gone as well - so...litterally he had to shave down a barring of his to get it to fit mine, otherwise I'd have to order to like, china to get the part for this quad.  So all went well, he fixed it up and it was fine - this was November, so I put the Quad in back of the truck, and took it home.

A few days passed, the quad sat in the shed - but it was getting close to Ski-doo time, and well my dad wanted to put it in storage.  I told him to leave it out until I could take it for a short ride in the woods, just to test it.  Ya know.

Well this Saturday afternoon, I decided to take it for a spin, like 4-5 days after I got it from Roy.  And as I was going UP the hill (this is a 150cc chain driven quad, this is no 4X4 here) I swear to lord, this rear-wheel chain driven kid's toy - really - decided to flip up from BACK tossing me FORWARD over the handle bars - going UP A HILL.  Now if anyone got that, they will know that's completely impossible with the laws of gravity, but I swear that's what happened.  I was going, on this..what I would consider good road (very good road for around here actually) and suddenly my rear end lifted, and tossed me over the handlebars, and I broke my front fender.  It's baffling.

Anyway, I broke the fender, and just gave myself a few aches and pains for a few days, no big damage (I landed in grand fashon in a mud puddle).

So, the snow is gone, the ski-doo is now in storage!  I need my quad.  Yes, I do have a toy for every season.  So this afternoon, its piece the fender of Holly's quad back together with glue and wire.  It's like my first battle scar from all this ATV stuff - I always said I didn't trust a Quad as much as I trusted my ski-doo and this accident last fall proved me right again and again.   So, complete wtih battle scars, my quad should be going again by tomorrow!  Now if the cops could just drop completely off the face of the earth and I could drive down the road like a sane person, all would be right in the world.

Otherwise I'm waiting another few weeks until all the snow is gone from the woods, so I can go for a nice spin.  And hopefully this time no "kamakazi over the handlebars".

I'm only saying it folks...really.  Look at this

http://www.urladex.com/url/xfilesnews.com

Anyone else really amused by this? LOL.   On the contrary, who some would consider my "competition" is only in at 7 bucks a share with over 200 shares...compared to my 15 dollars at over 400 shares!  Wooo!

Now for the funnies:

gossamer.org - 9 bucks a share at 309 shares

idealistshaven.com - 15 bucks a share at 378 shares  (XFN is tight competition to haven now folks!)

xfiles.com - 11 bucks a share...Haven and XFN is worth more than the official site! LOL.  No shares left however, I guess everyone thinks this is the banking in domain.  If they put up a trailer, you never know *laughs*

I dont know what this site's about, but it makes XFN look good overall as well.

Oh well, my chuckle for today.

Man I did the stupidest thing today with my ski-doo's carburators.  Unknowingly and dumbly I turned my idle screw on one carb way up before I realized "this isn't the air screw" and I didn't how how many turns I had done!  Anyway I started it up, tweaked it, and bought it back to semi-normal then went straight to my mechanic.  Anyway disaster averted!  She's working fine now - and I can start it up too now without an army of men behind me!

Went for a little spin this evening, however the weather here is cold as hell with the windchill factor.  My hands have finally warmed up again.  I added a little "give thinkey a shot" if you like this blog or whatever.  I passed the idea by rosmarylondon and she's still deciding - If you see a little icon like that on hers its pretty much the same deal.  HELP ME GET DRUNK ON FRIDAY NIGHT - ya know, after I post some juicy spoilers :D

I'm still thinking about the fanfiction site - and its design.  I have to look for some more freelance work starting tomorrow as well.

I downloaded the coolest stats program for the site, where I can see new visitors visiting in real time!  It's pretty damn cool and balances out great with PHP-Myvistes!  It was a must-have for this website.  I'm gonna go stare at it for a little while longer now folks!

We'll see!  Through this week, my webhost moved this site to a newer, faster server!  2 GB of memory and a port 10 times faster than the last one!  It was a rough Wednesday, Thursday and Friday since the site kept getting caught in the Bermuda triangle from time to time (DNS caching is hell) - but she seems to have come around!  My server load right now is really low with a steady flow of traffic to the site - I think this may do it!

I've moved the chatroom to public domain to allow for more traffic to the chatroom.  I've made some menu changes down in the user menu - nothing big however.

I fixed the uploading issue with avatars to the message board, and moved alot of the avatars to the gallery.  If you don't see yours there anymore, just upload it again please, as I may have cleared it out by mistake.

We have the fanfiction website to get running and also a few other things in the works!  We'll see how it all goes in the next few weeks with this site here however - but I am seeing some good things to come!

Oh, and how do you like the new title? Pretty pixelated eh?
