After 2 weeks of waiting it finally arrived! And its every bit of awsomeness I imagined it to be! Now the only goal is not to get it dirty - which means, don't wear it too often.  That also means, get a black cap so you won't have to worry about it! Oh well. I always wanted a white cap, just never got around to it until now, and it looks as good as I imagined!   I have to say, since the snow decided to go, it also decided NOT to rain! Now this is a spring I can get use to. I passed off my broken ATV chain to Roy to fix yesterday, hopefully he'll have that fixed this evening so I can get my Quad back in one piece.  Speaking of pieces - last fall I went for the craziest of accidents on my quad.  I had some teeth missing from my front cog (where the chain hooks on to the motor to spin the chain) so I took my quad down to Roy, and got him to weld the teeth back on (he's my welding master!) and then he also noticed that my barring was gone as well - so...litterally he had to shave down a barring of his to get it to fit mine, otherwise I'd have to order to like, china to get the part for this quad. So all went well, he fixed it up and it was fine - this was November, so I put the Quad in back of the truck, and took it home.  A few days passed, the quad sat in the shed - but it was getting close to Ski-doo time, and well my dad wanted to put it in storage. I told him to leave it out until I could take it for a short ride in the woods, just to test it. Ya know.  Well this Saturday afternoon, I decided to take it for a spin, like 4-5 days after I got it from Roy. And as I was going UP the hill (this is a 150cc chain driven quad, this is no 4X4 here) I swear to lord, this rear-wheel chain driven kid's toy - really - decided to flip up from BACK tossing me FORWARD over the handle bars - going UP A HILL. Now if anyone got that, they will know that's completely impossible with the laws of gravity, but I swear that's what happened. I was going, on this..what I would consider good road (very good road for around here actually) and suddenly my rear end lifted, and tossed me over the handlebars, and I broke my front fender. It's baffling.   Anyway, I broke the fender, and just gave myself a few aches and pains for a few days, no big damage (I landed in grand fashon in a mud puddle).   So, the snow is gone, the ski-doo is now in storage! I need my quad. Yes, I do have a toy for every season. So this afternoon, its piece the fender of Holly's quad back together with glue and wire. It's like my first battle scar from all this ATV stuff - I always said I didn't trust a Quad as much as I trusted my ski-doo and this accident last fall proved me right again and again.  So, complete wtih battle scars, my quad should be going again by tomorrow! Now if the cops could just drop completely off the face of the earth and I could drive down the road like a sane person, all would be right in the world.  Otherwise I'm waiting another few weeks until all the snow is gone from the woods, so I can go for a nice spin. And hopefully this time no "kamakazi over the handlebars". |
