These events are essentially, exactly the way they happened... Essentially.
I found myself at Book Soup. Looking at the letters BOOK SOUP, I realized the longer I stared at it, the S starts looking more and more like a B. It made me giggle, Book Boup, but this was no laughing matter! Philes around the world were waiting for exceptional journalism from me! It was enough to get me going, so I decided to begin my updates! I had to be prepared with the best equipment. State of the art recording technology and imaging systems... I took a breath and slowly reached into my purse, I felt it, my shimmery blue phone with a mediocre battery life.
Honestly, this isn't the first time I've watched the trailer. But this time I'm really really going to pay attention (And run it in slow-mo probably as well). These are my own personal initial thoughts and opinions. Keep in mind that my internal dialog usually runs in sarcastic mode. No offense to the trailer because I really do love it.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present either the shortest or longest XFN blog post in the history of the site -- it all depends on how you look at it.
I made about 250 screen caps of the Russian trailer for those who want to study it in detail. I whittled that down to some 98 caps. See 'em by reading more.
(The caps are in order, left to right, top to bottom.)
In between all this speculation, nail-biting anticpation and rude message board hacking, I think we need a minute to remember
this is entertainment and as CC said to us at ComicCon "Just a show." We
should all be enjoying ourselves! This is our time as Philes to dance
joyously for the return of our heroes and their adventures and to reminisce
about the good (Beyond the Sea), the bad (Space) and the ugly (Grotesque).
We are all obviously great fans of The X-Files. This is what unites us,
what makes us happy and what will gather us together in holy movie watching
on July 25th. And I believe the rights of a fan also include the right to
say things about your show that if a non-fan were to point them out you
would kick their ass. We know that no matter what we say, deep down we'll
always love The X-Files. So, in this spirit, I bring to you...
Well, all that BigLight.com stalking finally paid off! Frank Spotnitz's Big Light Productions launched a social networking site today. I must use this blog to not only tout the venture, but also to apologize to my boss. Boss, I'm sorry much of my shift today was spent commenting and sprucing and messaging. It is SO addictive people, and highly customizable!
Here's a little sample of what a page can look like. But if you have more tech ability than, say, a 4 year old, yours will look better than mine does.
The agents are more on Scooby-Doo duty rather than in Oliver Stone mode, says Duchovny in the LA Times article. The article, which was the source of our "Back at FBI Headquarters" news article from May 3, talks about David Duchovny and how he reprised his role on the X-Files. It also talks a bit about the music video the X-Files stars apparently watched on YouTube.
Speaking of YouTube and David Duchovny, here he is discussing the cyclone in Myanmar:
Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!
On a lighter note, the official Latin site for the X-Files movie has appeared. You can take a look at it here:
There's a rumor of an X-Files trivia site being launched in June; however, like with all things Fox-related at this point, let's not hold our breath. Well, ok, let's just hope they don't use the crazy Mulder head from the first version of the poster in their design.
Don't forget to check out the XFN Forums and join in on the chatter. Also check out our T-Shirts that we have promoting the new movie! Check out the XF2 Fan Fiction Archive for all the latest X-Files Movie stories as well!
