So I have exceeded the amount of skips I am allowed on Pandora and I should probably get some lunch. Instead I am still glued to the computer desk, fingers flying across the keyboard at a rate that is faster than normal. And normal is fast.
It's been over a year since The X-Files: I Want to Believe was released in theaters and we are now approaching XFN's second birthday. Almost a year ago, Holly, Avi and I sat and thought about what direction XFN would head in. Did we just carry the memories of 2008 and go back to our normal lives satiated, or did we want more? Fast forward to August of 2009 and well, we wanted more.
So thanks to all of you for donating to Frankenbear, helping out IBG, for writing postcards, sending in your videos, for designing fantastic t-shirts, hats and mugs, for following us on facebook and twitter, for posting on the message boards and hanging out with us over at Big Light, for submitting questions for our interviews, and too many other things for me to articulate just now. Keep them all coming!
I wanted to let you all know that tonight, in Caracas, Venezuela, our editor-in-chief boards a plane for the United States. She spent the last few days saying goodbye to family, to friends, and to a life she's known since birth. Even as she waits to start a new life in Los Angeles, she is sending me emails and text messages about XFN. I tell her good luck and that we love her and will see her soon. I remember both how hard this is for her and how effortless all at the same time. I also remember that she has all of you behind her.
Thanks for reading my discombobulated post as my blood sugar is whispering that I should eat first before writing a blog next time :) Also, interesting that as I finished this, Goo Goo Doll's Better Days is now on my player.
It may not look like it judging from our front page, but XFN has had a busy couple of weeks. With our current staff stretched very thin due to actual life/phile life commitments, XFN is bringing on additional staff who will be announced very shortly along with a backlog of updates!
I've been answering some questions this morning from a Phile doing research for her PhD thesis and it got me thinking about those of you who visit XFN each week, each day, each hour of each day of each week...and I want to let you know that your endless amount of support in all of our endeavors never ceases to amaze us.
So thank you for getting behind this fandom and each other. A lot of people watch TV, but Philes don't just watch "The X-Files." They live it...breathe it...know it deep in their soul.
Without that, we wouldn't be here. So keep on visiting, posting, supporting and most of all, keep believing because with the "Believe in the Future" campaign underway, anyone can be a believer but you guys are making it happen.
Since this was posted today on Frank's blog, I thought I would open it up to you guys here at XFN and get your thoughts. Agree, Disagree, offer your own opinions into the time line of our favorite duo!
I think at this point, most Philes agree that Mulder and Scully consummated their relationship at the end of the episode "Per Manum" which aired in the 8th season as a flashback to the 7th season. Now where "Per Manum" fits on the season 7 time line is up for healthy debate but it most likely took place sometime between "First Person Shooter" and "Chimera." I have heard a few Philes suggest as early as "Rush" though I don't necessarily subscribe to that theory.
On a somewhat unrelated note (well I suppose the snow in the vid is related to Christmas), XFN's multi talented Avi Quijada has finally created an XF Fanvid! It is her first, so be gentle with her Pluto!
Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!
After cooking all day Thursday and then subsequently eating all day Thursday, I spent all of Friday lying around watching episodes of "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman."
No I don't have an explanation for that but while I was lying around I somehow forgot to shower for nearly 48 hours until Avi explained that was just plain disgusting.
So in the shower I am thinking about not closing my eyes in case some crazed man comes in with a knife and then I think to myself, "Wow, I really want to watch Die Hand die Verletzt."
On a completely different note, I stumbled across this from Moxed.

In between working as an editor at XFN and having two small humans call me "Mommy," I hold down a regular job like most Philes.
Yesterday, I was filing some invoices, not terribly interesting in and of itself, but I needed to file one for a person named Cassandra.
I flipped to the back of my stack and got frustrated when I could not find the right folder. Several minutes went by before I realized I was looking for the last name Spender. It was another several minutes before I remembered what Cassandra's actual last name was.
So there you have it, my NerdPhile moment. The purpose of this exercise is not only to embarass myself, but the rest of you as well so come on now, don't keep me guessing...what is YOUR best NerdPhile Moment?
